BAHRAICH: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are helping upgrade infrastructure and improve the learning environment in government schools in Bahraich, with interventions ranging from classroom renovation and sanitation facilities to drinking water systems and furniture.

A significant contribution has come from IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., whose CSR initiatives in the district have focused on strengthening school infrastructure and providing facilities for students.

Under the programme, work has been undertaken to renovate and construct school infrastructure, including classrooms and basic amenities. Separate toilets for boys and girls have also been constructed or renovated.

Project executive Khusheed Alam said more than 10 government schools in Bahraich have received clean drinking water facilities through the installation of water filter plants and RO units under IndiaMART's CSR funding.

More than 15 government schools have also been provided desks and benches through CSR funds, with over 1,000 desks supplied so far. The initiative has helped address gaps in classroom furniture.

The interventions have also received recognition at the national level. IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd. was recently honoured with the Mahatma Award 2026 for its work in education. The award ceremony was held on October 1, 2026, at the India International Centre in New Delhi.

The company has also received two CSR recognitions, including the Mahatma Award for CSR and ESG Excellence 2026 and SICA'26 in Education by CSR Universe, for its CSR initiatives.

In Bahraich, the interventions have provided additional resources for government schools in areas such as drinking water, furniture, sanitation and infrastructure.
