IIMC Alumni Meet Held in Lucknow, Tribute Paid to Senior Journalist
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh chapter of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association organised its annual alumni meet titled “Connections” in Lucknow on Sunday, where members paid tribute to senior journalist Pradeep Mishra by observing a moment of silence after his demise.
Speakers at the event recalled Mishra’s contribution to journalism and shared personal memories associated with him. The gathering was chaired by chapter president Marinder Mishra.
Former IIMC Alumni Association president Prasad Sanyal, executive president Prabhash Jha and general secretary Atul Gupta were among those who addressed the alumni. Former chapter president Santosh Valmiki, general secretary Panchanan Mishra, Kamlesh Rathore, Bhai Shaili, Alok Kumar, Priyanka Singh, Vivek Shukla and Archana Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Alumni from various districts across the state participated and stressed the need to strengthen the association’s activities. During the event, Vishal Shukla was unanimously elected secretary of the UP chapter, while Harshit Azad Gupta was elected secretary of the Kanpur sub-chapter.
