Pooran, Marsh Power LSG to 5-Wicket Win Over SRH
Hyderabad, March 27, 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a commanding five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an IPL 2025 clash, chasing down a 191-run target in just 16.1 overs. Nicholas Pooran’s blistering 70 off 26 balls and Mitchell Marsh’s 52 off 31 laid the foundation for the win, while Shardul Thakur’s 4/34 dismantled SRH’s batting lineup.
SRH Post Competitive 190/9
Opting to bat first, SRH put up 190/9, with Travis Head (47 off 28) and Aniket Verma (36 off 13) leading the charge. Nitish Reddy (32 off 28) and Heinrich Klaasen (26 off 17) provided crucial runs, but regular wickets kept their total in check. Thakur’s four-wicket haul, supported by Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi, and Prince Yadav, restricted SRH’s momentum.
LSG Chase Led by Pooran’s Carnage
LSG’s chase started with Marsh’s fluent 52, but it was Pooran’s explosive knock—smashing six sixes and six fours at a strike rate of 269.23—that sealed the game. Abdul Samad (22 off 8) provided the finishing touch as LSG reached 193/5 in 16.1 overs.
